Saltiga Daiwa

 

The Daiwa Saltiga is the highest-end reel of the brand, the most powerful and reliable.

The Saltiga's frame benefits from the latest Daiwa innovations: its machined symmetrical one-piece Monocoque Body structure provides the reel with greater robustness. Entirely built in aluminium, it increases the strength of the frame. The control wheel encapsulated in the frame is wider (46 mm) and thicker (8.7 mm) than the previous version of the Saltiga (2015), while being lighter thanks to its G1 duralumin composition. To limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 superimposed layers: anodizing, antistatic paint, primer, paint and varnish. The aluminum Air Rotor is stiffer than ZAION carbon and more powerful, making the pick-up arm stronger. On either side of the control wheel, two MagSealed bearings ensure fluidity and tightness in the Saltiga. We found Mag Oil in the sprocket and roller of the pick-up.

The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) braking system is now made up of 14 elements compared to 6 on the 2015 Saltiga, making the new Saltiga ten times more powerful and durable than its predecessor. The brake button has also been redesigned: it gains in ergonomics thanks to its 42% enlargement. Like the button cover and brake collar (two internal components), the brake button is aluminum. This allows heat transfer and dissipation that guarantees the fluidity and efficiency of the Saltiga. In order to regulate the brake precisely, the clicking sound has been intensified. Ideal for taking on sport fish, the round or oval aluminum grip offers a powerful and comfortable grip. Always with the aim of maximizing the pleasure of fishing, the Saltiga is equipped with an LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool that ensures the fluid output of the line and reduces the risk of wigs. Another practical detail of the Saltiga is found in the pick-up, whose opening and closing are controlled by a mechanism that prevents the reel from turning during the cast.

For the sake of consistency with small spinning reels, the Saltiga range adopts a new scale of sizes: from 8000 (corresponding to size 4500 on the Saltiga 2015) to 20,000 (previously size 8000). With this new range, the Saltiga pushes performance limits even further thanks to the high technologies that equip it. It only remains for the fishermen to have it in hand and break their records.
