The Shimano Sephia BB rod is a mid-high range EGI rod designed for squid fishing by Shimano's Japanese experts. Exceptionally light, with a moderately fast and forgiving action, the blank is made from Hi-Power X Carbon and has a responsive toe box. Pair it with the Sephia BB reel for an impressive combination. Developed in Japan by the squid fishing experts at Shimano, the Shimano Sephia BB is a complete rod. At 2.51m in length and with a moderately fast action, it's long and powerful enough to cast EGI lures to feeding squid at a distance, while retaining a soft tip for maximum lure action and bite detection. Built with Shimano's exclusive Hi-Power X carbon, the Sephia BB blank is remarkably light at just 100g, yet has the power to cast larger EGI lures extreme distances. Despite its remarkable casting characteristics, consistent with all high performance EGI rods, the Sephia BB has a moderately fast action combined with a responsive tip and forgiving midsection, providing the perfect combination of bite registration and gaming performance. To further enhance casting performance and rod action, it comes with lightweight Fuji Alconite Type K rings for their anti-tangle characteristics. Fitted with a custom designed Shimano reel seat and split EVA shaft, the performance and red/black graphics pair perfectly with the Sephia BB reel.
