The Shimano Moonshot Spin rod has been designed for fishing from shore, rock and even harbor walls, using medium sized hardbaits (plugs) and metal jigs for bass and other shallow water game. With a light feel, balance and excellent tip speed, combined with exceptional launch performance, the Moon Shot has been designed in Japan and built on high modulus full carbon blanks with Hi-Power X technology for superior performance. greater resistance to torsion and a quick recovery of the point during the launch.

Fuji K-Type guides are used throughout the range to improve line flow and minimize damage to high performance braids and monos.

All models are a two-piece design and the lighter 2.59m (8'6") ML model can accommodate lures weighing as low as 6g up to 32g, while the powerful 2.90m (2.90m) MH model 9' 6") covers lures weighing from 10g to 52g and metal jigs up to 60g.
